Transparency reports

September-December 2025

The Code of Conduct team decided to publish a first transparency report based on lessons learned in the last period. Transparency reports will be published regularly in the future at the discretion of the CoC Team.

From September to December 2025 the CoC Team improved the process considerably, including writing a blog post to communicate the changes. Half of the CoC Team received formal CoC enforcement training in December 2025 and these individuals have shared the lessons learned with the rest of the team. The remaining members are expected to receive this training during 2026. The following incidents were addressed by the CoC team.

Incident 1

The CoC team enacted a temporary ban on an individual based on multiple reports for:

  • Ignoring community safety rules

  • Actively advocating against stated community values

  • Repeated unwanted collaboration attempts

  • Intentionally misgendering community members

The temporary ban required the individual to reconsider and stop these behaviors. During the ban, some behaviors were repeated. After further discussion, the CoC Team identified good-faith effort but also a high risk that boundary violations and CoC breaches would continue to occur. Consequently, the CoC Team has enacted an indefinite ban with the right to appeal regularly upon demonstrating behavioral improvement.

Incident 2

The CoC team received an appeal of a moderation ban on the grounds of violating the core principles of respect and non-discrimination established in the CoC. The team kept the ban in place.

Incident 3

The CoC team received a report about aggressive communication. The CoC Team mediated within the parties, and proposed a solution to the topic being debated that successfully addressed everybody’s concerns.

Incident 4

The CoC team requested a correction for potentially disrespectful and unhelpful behavior. Upon discussion with the reported person, the CoC team acknowledged some mistakes, and rolled back part of the correction. The reported person and the team both agreed that part of the behavior was problematic and to work to avoid it in in the future.

Incident 5

A moderation incident was escalated to the CoC team after aggressive communication and overstepping the boundaries of the CoC were reported. The CoC team issued a warning to one of the involved parties, and suggested improvements to the moderation team.
